GoiT - Go innovate together: Preparing the future of technology

 

GoiT is a signature digital innovation and career-readiness program that engages students from diverse backgrounds to bridge the learning curve with STEM, computer science, design thinking, and digital innovation.

In collaboration with Tata Consulting Services (TCS) we are creating a pool of skilled female professionals from underrepresented communities interested in innovation and computer science to discover industry-relevant practices and skills while developing a tech-for-good solution to a relevant problem facing the enviroment.

Class Size: 15 (Registration is binding).

Program Length: 8 weeks (Tuesdays & Thursdays 5.30pm - 8.30pm)

VISION

TCS’ goIT program aims to:

• Inspire students to consider a career in computer science and technology
• Spark curiosity in their minds and enhance confidence and employability
• Empower students to design and develop innovative digital solutions for community problems
• Provide exposure and insight into varied roles within an IT company and the business world
• Challenge gender stereotypes by showcasing women in STEM as role models

Program:

• Instructor lead sessions
• Design thinking courses
• IT Projects
• Group work & Technical Mentor Sessions
• Culmination event in Oslo.

 COURSE REQUIREMENTS 

• You identify as female from diverse background, aged 20+ yrs
• You'r not in training or employed for more than 20 hrs per week
• Can demonstrate your interest in a career in technology
• Resident of Norway with a minimum high school diploma
• You are legally entitled to live and work in Norway
• You are interested in a career in IT and are able to show it
• Understanding basic IT concepts (Servers, Storage, IP Addresses)
• You commit to attend and complete the program fully
• You can set aside time (Tuesdays & Thursdays from 5.30pm to 8.30pm)
• You are C1 level in English and Norsk B1
• You are able to pass logical & mathematical test prior to starting
• You have computer equipment and stable internet
• The selection process will depend on the number of factors, including (but not limited to) the number of registrations in the program, online quiz and 1:1 interview

Students will learn:

• Design thinking
• UI/UX and Storyboard
• Prototyping
• Pitching your Product
• Technical Mentor Sessions
• Projects

Due to the international mix of tutors and the subject areas, the program is conducted in  English and Norwegian.

Tools to bring: 

• Windows laptop
• Mac Laptop

Prerequisites: 

• Interest in technology, Innovation and Design thinking ideation
•  Highly motivated to innovate.
