About the Event
We are thrilled to celebrate the hard work and success of our learners with a graduation ceremony in the auditorium in the Technology Center of Øygarden næringsutvikling KF, Struame Norway . The Graduation Celebration will be attended by the Nathalie Håkenstad Enterprise Account Manager & Glamazon Nordics
Board Member at AWS, Marco Chiapusso ION Analytics - Data CTO, as well as representatives from Amazon Web Services Re Start, Øygarden næringsutvikling KF and local employers.
This programme has been run in collaboration with Amazon Web Services re/Start to equip women in tech, particularly those who are underemployed, or from underrepresented groups, with highly sought-after skills in cloud computing. Over the twelve-week programme, learners are taught transferable cloud computing skills including scripting, automation, programming languages focused on Python and knowledge of network security fundamentals.
AWS re/Start Women in tech is a workforce development program. It provides net new technical talent to the Norwegian market and solves two challenges faced by our customers and partners.
• The current skills shortage in Cloud is a global problem, affecting all vertical markets. The program provides a talent pool of entry-level resources for hire.
• A lack of diversity, particularly in tech, is a widely recognized challenge. As part of our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, we re-skill under-represented groups, free of charge for the students.
AWS re/Start candidates are tomorrow’s women Developers, Solution Architects and SysOps Engineers – they are suitable candidates for Support, Developer and DevOps teams. They also fill junior level Consultant, Solution Architect, Security and Data roles.
Our candidates are highly educated women from diverse backgrounds coming from some of the prestigious universities in Norway such as NHH, NTNU and Oslo Met in Norway.
We work with our candidates on improving their Employment and leadeship skills and provided coaching in various soft skills such as writing a CV, interview technique, time management, effective collaboration and connecting learners to potential employers. Due to the interest of this first and second programme we are now recruiting for our third programme, which will begin in October 2022. Applications are open until 22nd October. Apply for AWS re/Start online now.
